Supported by Mrs Earlam every other Wednesday Morning for Art and DT

Welcome to the Dahl class page!

I hope you have had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to the exciting Autumn term ahead of us.

PE Kits

PE is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.  However, the children ought to have their PE kit in school throughout the week.  We expect the children to wear trainers, white T-shirts and black shorts - please ensure these are labelled.  Long hair should be tied back for lessons.  We also recommend that the children are provided with tracksuits for outdoor lessons in cold weather conditions.

Year 4 swimming takes place every alternate Wednesday. Please ensure you child's kit is named. If you would like a list of swimming dates, please feel free to ask!

Water bottles, snack and school bags

Children are permitted to bring water bottles into school.  These should be kept by the sink in the classroom.  Please ensure that the bottles are taken home on a regular basis for washing.

Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack in to eat during their morning break.

Children need to bring in their black bookbags, reading book and yellow diary every day.  Larger bags or rucksacks will not be needed unless they have a particular sport or club after school.

Listening to your child read at home is really beneficial, so your support is greatly appreciated.  We encourage children to read a range of genres, but also to read texts which they find interesting.  Please record any reading the children do at home in their yellow Reading Record books.  These books should be kept in their bookbags.

Homework will go out on a Thursday to be returned the following Wednesday. The children will practise their spellings on spellings shed and will have a login for TT Rockstars to practise their Times Tables.

Residential Visit

Year 3 will be enjoying a residential visit to Castleton in the Peak District.  The children will participate in cave explorations, orienteering and art activities- there will be more information to follow.

Year 4 will be going to Robin Wood. The children will enjoy a 2-night stay and take part in lots of oganised activities throughout the stay.

Please feel free to contact me on my school e-mail:

Alternatively, you can speak to me at the end of the school day.  If you have any questions or queries, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Kind regards,

Miss Kinniburgh
