 Important information:

Fruit and Milk / Water

In Reception, we have a snack system which allows your child to access fruit and milk / water throughout the morning in their own snack cafe. The children will have access to water throughout the day.

Learning Journeys:

We will be recording your child's learning throughout the year with observational notes, videos and photographs (using an iPad). However, we appreciate that a lot of learning also takes place out of school. These wow moments can be recorded and uploaded onto Tapestry. Alternatively we will be sending home ‘Wow moments’ postcards for you to fill in when your child shows you new learning or interests. This might be recorded as a quote from your child, a photograph, a picture or writing. Please fill this in when you notice any ‘Wow moments’ and put them it in your child’s book bag. We look forward to reading these!

Reading:
All of the children will be given a reading book and a reading diary. Please read with your child as often as possible and complete the yellow diary. There is a reading guidance sheet in the front of your child's reading diary. P
lease ensure your child brings their reading book into school each day. Books will be changed at least once a week with the children sharing a reading session with their teacher at some point during the week.

PE:
Monday

The PE kit is white or black shorts with a white t-shirt and black pumps. Please make sure that all clothes are clearly labelled with your child's name. Your child's PE kit will stay in school for the half term, at which point you might like to take it home for a wash! During the winter months can you please ensure your child has tracksuit bottoms and a warm sports jacket.
Jewellery should not be worn in school. This is especially important for PE.
Please ensure that if your child has long hair it is tied back for PE.

House Groups:
We have a `house' system at school. These are named after trees and are also colours:

Ash - red Beech - yellow Oak - green Rowan - blue

Helping at School:
We are always in need of parent helpers for listening to children read and any help would be very welcome. If you are able to help out on a regular basis, or just as a one off, please speak to Miss Andrews, Miss Knowles or Mrs Ebbage and we will be delighted to arrange this.

Secret Readers

If you would like to be a secret reader please let Miss Humphreys or Miss Andrews know and this can be arranged.

Please don't hesitate to pop in at the end of the day or contact the school office if you have any queries or anything you would like to discuss.  If you would like to contact us by email: hayley.humphreys@tarvin.cheshire.sch.uk or steph.andrews@tarvin.cheshire.sch.uk
